Constructed as a third class open carriage (TO) at the LMS Derby Carriage and Wagon works to diagram 1915. After withdrawal from revenue earning service, converted in 1965 to a Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineers Breakdown Train Unit (BTU) Tool Van. Renumbered to departmental stock as ADM395923. TOPS code: QQV. Dimensions 57' 0" x 9' 3"

9205 (LMS code 'QF', BR code 'TO') was constructed in 1936 as a third class vestibule carriage at the LMSR Derby Carriage and Wagon Works to diagram 1915 and is one of a batch of 56 to lot 894. After withdrawal from revenue earning service 9205 was converted in 1965 to a Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineers Breakdown Train Unit (BTU) Tool Van and renumbered to departmental stock as ADM395923. TOPS code QQV. Dimensions  57' 0" x 9' 3".

As DM395923 appeared after refurbishment early in 2002. The interior was gutted and refitted and the exterior completely re-panelled. Seen here in newly applied early 1950s BR departmental livery, it has still to have its identification lettering applied.
